I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

yeah, i had it running as a dual boot on my toshiba laptop but i could never get the sound working. fucking intel drivers are a PITA. i sold that laptop and used the funds to buy a netbook. that toshiba used to be my primary computer when i first came to japan but i have a desktop now so a netbook will work just right. if only japan had free wifi. there is NONE.

but i will tell you that i did have sound problems on my toshiba. i could never get it working. intel sound drivers are a bitch. i tried almost everything i could find that was related to getting it fixed. the problem is that its not a uniform fix that works on everyones system. some people do this and it works, some people do that and it works. that kinda shit annoys me haha. anyways, i think that a possible solution (while it does cost money) is to go with a sound card (not on board sound). you can find one that is supported and has drivers, buy that shit, install it and the sound should work. the resolution thing is....odd. its not because of vista. my guess is because it was running from the disc. you could also try something like pendrivelinux with ubuntu. that way you would have the full distro on a USB jump drive and you could see if everything worked that way.
my netbook is in transit from dell. yay! says it should be delivered on chirstmas now. that date has been changing left and right. first it was the 27th, then the 30th, now the 25th. lets hope the sooner the better.

Re: i bought a netbook
hehe, well i installed XP on it
. the dell kernel was pissing me off. they created a special kernel for the atom processor (LPIA kernel) and installing most common programs that are not in installer or synaptic required me to modify install files everytime. that was annoying me. also, they had initially set a memory limit of 883mb (no matter how much you installed), which i hear has now been removed once you update but still that annoyed me too. There was an ubuntu bug that wouldnt get resolved unless i upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10. that was the touchpad clicking things even if you didnt touch it bug. once 9.04 drops i will probably install that. maybe not, i dunno. i installed xp took a backup image of it, installed vista and took a backup image of that too so i can install either on the fly. i want to do it for 8.10 as well.
