well....the grocery gettin insurance haulin car may have come to its death yesterday. olay a little under 2 years of life it had too, but thankfully i am still here to speak of it. anyone who wants a safe car when it comes to crashes and protecting your passengers, i recommend the madza protege' 5 (now called Mazda 3). FOr any of you local PA folks that travel on rt 30 now and then through greensburgh area, you know its a crazy road...and especially during rush hours in the late afternoon. Unfortunately, yesterday some 16 or so age kid wanted to test the crumble areas of his Jeep Liberty on the back of my car....or maybe he just wanted to see how many cars he could crash. I dunno, I just know i saw him coming at me full speed (40 or so) in my rear view mirror while i was sitting behind a line of cars at a red light. he hit me first and puched me into the bcak of an oldsmobile alero (which is totalled too), that car into a van, the van into a full size ford truck, the truck into another van, and that van into another car(which left the scene). SO needless to say, i was the cushion for all the other cars. thank god for seat belts and good crumble zones in the mazda, b/c i think thats all that saved me. I feel like someone beat me with a baseball bat today, and i have bruises on me in places, but thankfully i am ok....cars are replaceable. Everyone (EMT, accident folks, cops) couldnt believe that i was up and walking...or not hurt at all or bad. Especially when someone rear ends you hard enough that your floor mat fly up under the dash, glasses and shoes fly off...watch flys off my arm and breaks my driver seat when i fly back into it. All and all, i am just thankful of three thing right now: 1 I am alive and ok 2 the car infront of me with young married couple and two little kids in the back seat are ok 3 and everyone walked away ok I will worry about the car situation after i recover from the shock of the situation and aches and pains Oh, well....maybe munster can put a pic up of my car with a RIP sign by it, or atleast i hope they total it....b/c i dont want it back later fools & stay close to your god... he watches over us |

damn yo, thats good you're alright. rt 30 sucks. I hate driving on it, but I hate the construction on 22, so its a bitch either way. btw, alero's use the same structure as my grand am. They are known to be easily totaled when rear ended because it usually collapses the frame. Sounds like that liberty really fucked up everyones day. I'm sure his insurance is pwned. Just a reminder to everyone, be alert and careful this time of year. Many people who didn't drive much because of the winter weather are out in full force. Plus you have all the distractions of summer to add to it. It makes for a lot of fucking idiots driving around. Obviously, tommybanzai couldn't avoid being rearended, but defenive driving can save your ass when it comes to idioits out on the road! pzz |

I had the same type of situation in high school, but nowhere near as bad as Tom's. It took me a while before I was comfortable driving again. You get really jumpy every time someone is stopping behind you. What car are you getting now, Havas? I bet a Z would be a great insurance-slingin' monster. |
