I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Looking for a GOOD all motor exhaust for my EK hatch

Post by Natural Aspirations » March 16, 2007

Just looking for some advise on an exhaust for my Civic. Looking to make upwards of 210 whp and what something that flows well. Most of what I have found is 60mm I am looking for something a bit larger, my header outlet is 2.5" looking for no bottle necks. I had my heart set on a 70mm Skunk2 exhaust but they wont be out for another 2 months or so. Not a lot of companies make a 3" or anything above 60mm for the hatchback. Also not trying to spend more than $600.

Spoon N1. Simple as that.

You can get the rear bolt on for about $350-$450 and then just get some 2.25" piping from the header back.

I wouldn't get 3" for an all motor car, that's for sure. Some b00sted cars don't even need that much exhaust flow.

^^ agreed some back pressure is important in an all motor car.

2.5 inch mandrel bent piping, 2.5 in test pipe, 2.5 in high flow resonator, 2.5 in in/out flat black vibrant muffler.

Looks stock, sounds a little deeper than stock, gives you just what you want.

If you're feeling intense, go with some 2.75, i wouldn't go to 3" tho.

The vibrant mufflers are 115 shipped all over the internet and on ebay, piping is cheap if you go to the right places too ... spend as little as possible on an exhaust - all the big name ones are over priced anyway...

Horrible misconception, It has been proven time and time again that a back pressure is not something you want. I have seen numerous dynos that prove this, one very good one by SMSP.

have you looked into T1R? or maybe JIC?

skunk is really good for the civics, though. they actually devote their times into our cars.

The T1r is very nice and I have been leaning towards that, the best deal on it I have found is 545 shipped.

If I were able to get the 70mm Skunk2 I would be all over it, I can get the 60mm for ~425 shipped.

I haven't looked into JIC at all, I will check them out
