I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Looks good! I haven't heard good things about VIS, but if your hood is fine, then who cares.
This is my temporary signature. Anyone know a good image host?

it's on the car, but it's hard to really tell the difference in the pics i took... the car is in my garage, and there's very little room in front of it for me to stand back to take a picture... and then add in that the fenders are just laying on the car, and there's no front bumper on there right now... :? hehe...

yeah, but that's why it's a PROJECT car. if i had the time and money to finish it immediately (and means to get the parts asap), then it would have been finished a long time ago...

but jdm parts = money... installation = time, and waiting on parts from japan = very time-consuming (and not just parts from japan, but waiting 2 months for a hood from the US, and now another couple of months for another exterior piece)

doesnt mean the shit cant be assembled, damn i know WHAT a project is but shit.....JDM parts dont=money for me because i got connections, installation of body panels is a PATHETICALLY short amount of time.....and what possible exterior piece could you be waiting for that could be taking so long that you dont have it? not to mention there are other brands of CF hoods that are IN STOCK that are SIR hoods

that's great that you have "connections" and don't have to spend a lot of cash on used jdm pieces, but some people have to (look at john, how long has he been saying he's putting a motor in the ek), and then obtaining some of the pieces takes time... although right now i have every exterior piece i need that is a used jdm piece.

the body panels are removed right now as the car needs to be painted... but that cannot be completed until the other piece(s) finally come in, which is remaining undiscussed at this point in time, but the reason it's taking so long is because it's being made.

other than that, the interior needs to be gutted in order to cut out the roof, which needs to wait for a free weekend, which is hard to come by with the event season. i'm trying for this weekend to cut the roof and put the other skin in, but i'll play it day to day.

as for the hood, waiting two months for it didnt bother my time much... sure, i wanted it to be here, but there are other things i need more to be able to paint the car... which is the main problem right now with it being in pieces. also, since i run a shop, i don't tend to go to other shops and purchase parts from them for more money than i need to spend... and, in this area, jdm isn't too popular, so the stocking of an sir hood would be seen more as a loss to these shops.
