Post subject:  Hood latch
Hey guys, my hood latch is loose, I have to tug on the release lever hard a few times before it'll pop the hood up. Since this weekend I'll be switching CF hoods I'd really appreciate it if anyone could clue me in on how to fix this problem. Thanks!

I never had that problem considering that my hood release handle snapped a few years ago. Pliers work great.

check the cabe make sure its not kinked or sticking somewhere. also make sure the latch itself isnt rusting up a lil or something. thats all i can think of.

not really, its either the cable or the latch unit

over time, teh rust and coroosion takes it's toll on the cable. each pul on a cable that has been weathered stretches it slightly. your's sounds like it has been stretched and needs to be replaced.

agreed...........and since you have the cable pulled you can re-route it thru your engine bay like i did

hmmm, i will take them when i get home, there is a grommet that is in the upper left hand side of the engine bay, i ran the cable thru that, routed the cable by the air intake tube and then into the hood latch......pix will come later
