I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

For the most part this is absolutely correct, however there are exceptions. Some car manufacturers switched to OBD2a for their '95 models. And some '96's are still OBD1 (jdm H22a). Not sure how he does it but Doctor H ended up with a '95 OBD2a B18c1 (an early '96 model sold in the end of '95), and a '96 OBD1 jdm H22a. <-He got the retarded engines

if your looking at the year cast into the head its not the year of the car it came out of. its the year of the casting.

You're the second person who has tried to correct me, but there was nothing to correct. Let me try to rephrase that.

I said that some auto manufacturers started using the OBD2a system for their '95 cars. I was not specifically refering to Honda or Acura. Some manufacturers started selling OBD2a cars at the end of '94, sold as '95 models early for the upcoming year. Like how we got the '07 Civic Si in the end of '06 (though they are considered '07 models) .

The jdm '96 Prelude with the H22a did infact have an OBD1 engine in it. Honda switched to OBD2a Preludes at the end of '96 (sold as being the new '97 models). So if someone were to get a '96 OBD2a H22a, it's from one of those later '96 engines that was in a car sold as a '97 Prelude.

And quoting what I said before "...a '95 OBD2a B18c1 (an early '96 model sold in the end of '95)..." His '95 B18C1 is an OBD2a engine. Being that it is OBD2a, it was made in '95, but was sold in the upcoming '96 Integra GS-R.

Hope I clarified for everyone exactly what I ment, to make sure some accurate facts are out there.

Guess I'm just getting too technical then. And I suppose it depends on how you look at it; the year of the engine or the year of the car.
