the new aem v2 is suppost to be good on the dyno... never seen it in person. however cold air intakes are crappy low end power. they dont do much untill a higher rpm. short ram intakes.. like the RS Akimoto or J's racing intake are good for low end and good throttle responce. the air dont have to travel as far to get into the throttle body. here is a good post i posted back in the day.. http://jdm.robry.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=70 |

I have an RS Akimoto right now on my stock motor, but I'm going AEM on my swap. The one plus about a short ram is that I don't suck up the water on those rainy days. Personally, I don't think there's THAT much of a difference in hp numbers between short ram and ca. |

ive got aem... no big difference in power but on hot days my car runs way better than when it had a short ram. no water problems either. for it to swallow water it would have to be a foot deep. |

Beaver has a ZX3 Focus, and he sucks up water like his car is a wet/dry ShopVac. That's a totally different car, though, and I wouldn't worry about water. |

If you dont feel like spending $$$, you can buy almost any generic short ram intake and it will do fine. You wont notice 2-3hp difference between the aem/injen. -Eric |

i say either the old AEM (none of this bypass valve BS).. Injen.. or Comptech. |
