Post subject:  to turbo or not to turbo, that's the question

hey guys. facing a dilemma right now. driving a 98 ek4 civic sir (that's what they call them here in singapore). and thinking of either an engine transplant- b18 or b20 (w a crv block) or to go da turbo-charging route with a b20.

think is i love TORQUE and i need the car as a daily driver. track days are a once a month rarity.

NA if i were to do up the engine seems to cost a heck of a lot more. cams, valve springs, etc, etc.

whadda you guys think? bang for buck?

B18 + boost.

Personally, I haven't heard many good things about the B20. Others will argue, but it's just an opinion based on other opinions.

im building a cr-vtec all motor. i might eventually boost it in time. but as munster says its just opinions. depending on how well the build is a b20 and out perform a b18 and vise versa.

i would go with a 1.8 cheaper stronger, not so much torque but its not that big of a diff

1.8 definately stronger, has 9mm walls compared to the CRV's 6mm.
