I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

A/C Delete

Post by sfc » June 04, 2005

I'll ask this one again since I never got an answer last time. I'm looking for a guide to removing the AC from my 00 si. Compressor is seized anyways so it's just adding weight and taking up room. Need to clear it out for the turbo project so... any help would be appreciated.

-First off, there are the lines for your AC. On them should have little caps that have like tire stem type deals.

-Take the cap off and press the pin in with a screwdriver to release the air. DONT BREATH IT IN OR STAND ABOVE IT

-Cut or remove your a/c belt.

-Remove your a/c compressor (should be 4 bolts, 2 upper 2 lower)

-Remove the a/c lines

-Remove the A/C radiator and fan.

That should be it!

well... it all sounds legit to me outside of draining the coolant... I dunno that that sounds legal and/or safe.

thats how i drained mine. its not that hard...just remove all the lines and crap that run in the car to the firewall under your battery, there was a bunch of little ones on mine like that and there was one that went up in my bumper. good luck, your bay will look sooo much nicer when your done

Its illigal. So if you dont want to do that, you have to pay someone to do it. Otherwise than that. Good luck.
