i have just finished putting togther a 89 ef9 civic and am haveing problems trying to figure out if the vtec is comeing on how much of a sound notice should hear.

if someone has a video link that would be great. i also dont have great exught will that be a limiting factor for the sound

It should be quite noticeable, and the quieter the exhaust the harder it'll be to hear. With an intake and cat-back it would be unmistakable.

Im not to sure about old ecu's. Maybe a pm6?

You should be able to feel a slight pull a little before 5k....if you dont have a short ram or something, go borrow one and strap it on. If there was something messed up with the solenoid, or wiring, you would get a cel

PM6 is a CRX Si ECU...which would be the wrong ecu

are you using a REAL spoon ECU or a shitty EBAY chip?
