When you do a swap, how will you pass SMOG if your mileage on the cluster has to match the miles on the motor? I always thought you could just adjust the miles on the cluster when installing one.

i have a spoon cluster. they passed mine. they asked me if i rolled the milage back sicne last inspection i said i swapped out the entire cluster. then again i know the guys really well and they said 'looks cool' so hehe goto some1 you know well. or find a cluster with abot the same amount of miles. or you could always swap the odometers.

I put an EX cluster in mine, and I just swapped speedometers so I kept the same mileage.

I have heard of guys that just get something written up by a licensed Honda mechanic that says the car is legit after swapping out anything that changes the mileage. Call your local Honda dealership. Wow. I sounded like a commercial.

Any suggestions for what cluster I should get? Of course I cant get spoon since they're hard to find and $$$. Also when I call the local honda dealer, do I just ask to talk to the mechanics? people at the dealers don't know shit.

depending on what look your going with. if your swapped get an SI cluster cause the tach runs higher then an EX or something and if you want to spend a lil more money get a ctr cluster.

Yea I saw a ctr cluster on ebay a few days ago, I'm thinking about getting that one.

Can you guys explain to me how to swap out the odometer so I can pass smog? I'd appreciate it.

Like I said...I swapped the entire speedo since the color scheme was the same between my DX and EX clusters. Just that the EX had the tach. To swap the speedo was simple because it's just two screws. I'll tear apart my spare gauges tonight to see if I can get the odometer out. I'll let you know.

Ok. I just tore apart my spare cluster and had no luck getting the odometer out without tearing the speedo needle off. I don't know if anyone else here knows a secret that I don't...

for the EK the ctr cluster has a black face with a carbon look surrond with amber lights. the EG faces are white with a black surround and amber lights...
