Post subject:  96 civic cx engine swap to b18 wiring question about harness

ok i have a 96 cx hatch that im going to put a b18 in ive finally made my mind up on motor choice after going back and forth several times, i was planning on buying a 99-00 civic si harness to make it plug and play- i think i may have to lengthen a wire or two but that should be it, i am looking at swapping in a 97-97 b18c5 or a 94-97 b18c1 i think a GSR is a c1 anyway should i go with the 99-00 civic si harness or this rywire connector for my harness i have on my motor

or post a suggestion, i was thinking it was better to go with the SI harness
opinions and thoughts welcomed

If you go with the C1 don't forget the dual length IM wire.

the GSR has a dual-butterfly intake manifold, so that part won't function with a Si harness.

If you have a 96 CX a 99-00 SI harness won't work. Different plugs. obd2a vs. obd2b. The plugs at the ecu are different. You'd have to get a jumper harness. Just use your stock harness and add the necessary wires.

I would just use your stock harness. Add the necessary wires. no need to buy a whole rywire harness. Just get an obd2 to obd1 jumper harness if you're running an obd1 ecu.
