ok everyone probly knows this but im gonna post it anyways for some of the newbs if there is any..
i was browsing around for new intakes and whatnot... why people claim that they can add 18+ hp. well injen claims there intake can add 18+ hp. well after a bit of research the injen cold air is good in the top end resulting in higher HP at top end. the throttle responce is not as good as it takes the air longer to travel to the throttle body. a + is that its not near the engine and sucks up good cold air...
further research i looked into a short ram inteake. j's style intake is real good with a bigger pipe alowing more air to hold in the pipe and get into the trottle body for great throttle responce and great low end horsepower due to its short pipe... a flaw with short ram intakes is that it sucks up alot of the engine's heat and since its angled right infront of the radiator it sucks up alot of dirty air comming from the radiator and fan...
i also looked at the comtech airbox and arc airbox, along with a stock airbox... the stock airbox on a b series works wonders after you removes the resignators and use the spoon or spoon type direct airflow pipe.. the arc and comtech boxes are great for throttle responce and low end HP making it great for the track. the design makes it so the heat from the engine wont interfere with cold air flow and with a top mount filter wont suckup dirty air from the radiator.
ok well that was just my 02 cents on intakes. some new stuff i learned from it. most is common sence but i still stand strong with picking up an ARC induction box after the swap.
I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
