I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Dumptube question

Post by 30stones » September 09, 2006

I dont know if this is the right forum but i'll post it here anyways. So my dumptube fell off going to the track lastnight. Its laying on RT22 if anyone wants it i was cruisin about 85 when it fell in a one lane fuck it i wasnt turing around to get it. So my question is i've been thinking about running my dumptube out my fender. I have mixed emotions about it i dunno if i want to risk it or not. I was just going to see what everyone else had to say before i made up my mind. Any comments welcome just tell what say what you think. Thanks

You could just bend it under the oil pan, along the side of the downpipe.

That's where mine is. I'm pretty sure his was in the same place considering the same person did them both.

I'd run it in the same location. I wouldn't go out of the fender personally...

Now downpipe AND dumptube out of the fender...YES!

Yea Mike G's car is where i saw it. I figured it was his downpipe but i want to be able to pass emmisions so thats why i wanted to do the dumptube. My dumptube just did like a 90 off of the wastegate and hung there. I like the idea of running it under the oil pan i never thought of that.

I read something over at evans-tuning.com, where Jeff Evans said that he has seen gains everytime that someone routed it that way. Something about the blown out gases not choking out the turbo inlet's air source as much. Wish I had my bookmarks cause I can't seem to find it again.

Mine comes out of the wastegate parallel with the downpipe and stops just before the middle of the pan. I can take a picture for you.

Yeah thats what i wanted to do. Well considering it.

I heard if you reroute it back into your downpipe you gain HP that way. Munster if you dont mind taking a pic go for it. I'm pretty sure your turbo is flipped around compared to mine. So your dumptube is probly different than mine.
