So while i had my car up on jackstands the other week i noticed my trans looks like someone took a sledge hammer to the bottom of it. Likely just bottomed out on something but cant think back to when it could of happened and i havent had any problems in the past and i even flushed the fluid last winter so was shocked when i saw this. I didnt take a pic at the time but will this weekend but to damn cold out this week to go out and jack the car up just to take a pic tonight. But either way I'm 99% sure it shouldnt look like this but i never noticed it before and the only reason why i did is because after chaging out the distributor i seen all the oil/grease covering the trans so i got underneath and went to work cleaning it off (was also changing the oil). But anyways. If incase i do need to get a new trans i have heard a couple people talk about a H series engine bolted up to a B series trans. I have seen people using H23 trans on a H22 engine but i just recently heard about the B series and i have an integra part car along with 2 B series trans from an integra sitting around (1 auto, 1 man) But was curious what trans it is IF it is possible. Also what is the advatage of running the B series over putting another H23 trans if i were to do this? |

was just looking around honda tech cause i thought i had seen it there but couldnt find the thread. Either way i guess H22 has shorter gears than H23 which has shorter gears than the F22(accord DOHC). Anyone have a link of honda trans gears as im assuming that is the reason why a b might be used. Also what is the dif if any as far as cables, mounts, bolt pattern, etc. |

I could be wrong but I think that is more less for a swapped h-series into a civic or integra. So you dont have to go to cables and can still use the stock clutch line. Not 100% sure though |

Yeah it has to be in a Civic or Integra as previously mentioned, they don't make this joyful little toy for Accords/Preludes as of now but I really think they should. Alot of people with the bigger Honda mobile's would enjoy the B tranny, I know I would. |

thanks for the input. Hopefully this tranny holds out another season. when i bought the car almost 3 years ago it had 40k on the rebuilt tranny and has never had problems shifting or anything. Stil trying to figure out when/how it could of happened. replaced the CV shafts last winter which was one of the reasons i did the tranny fluid too but never noticed it then.  |

hmm. I read where you said it was dented and all, is it giving you any driveability problems? (Sorry if I didn't read deep enough, I'm exhausted.) |

not dented, cracked, and not just one crack but tons of smaller ones. the pics are a little blurry because i dont have a lift so the cam was relatively close but you can still see what i am tlaking about. i also havent cleaned it any better yet to see everything considering it has been in the 10-20's this week in NY. either way here are 2 pics, hopefully it isnt as bad as i think:P
