Does anyone have any Idea on how to get the pilot bearing out of the D17? I have a seal puller but i have already busted my knuckles when the thing slipped off the bearing...Any info is greatly appreciated. |

use a small die grinder, or an actual pilot bearing puller SS |

or unbolt the flywheel and tap it out with a socket. |

or press it out on a press before you press the new one in. |

Does it have to be pressed in? I have thought about takin the flywheel off and punchin it out but how hard would it be to hold the flywheel and torque that sucker back on? |

it doesnt Have to be pressed in. A level surface with a peice of wood or something to beat it in evenly and a BFH. Just make sure its seated the whole way. |

^ and seated evenly. It isn't difficult to put the flywheel back on man, just get a couple bolts in and it holds itself. Make sure you torque the bolts evenly going back on. |

Yea I couldnt get it so I just put the suspension back together and had it towed to the local shop. It will cost me some money but it needs to be done properly.... |

how come you couldnt get it? Coulda had someone hold the engine still by the crank pulley so you could take the bolts out. Or use a impact gun to blow those suckers off. Oh well i guess its too late now oh yeah if its like other honda motors the bearing only goes in one way..thats probably why you couldnt pull it out. |
