...to strip the finish off of my Slipstreams? I'm looking at rubbing the black paint off the lips (and possibly the entire rim) since I'll have the tires off soon. MMMmmm, Victoracers... |

try that 'auto strip' stuff maybe? its pretty extreme. i know it burns the HELL out of your skin if it touches it. i used it on my interior pieces back when i was a ricer. i turned it all back to stock color. i ended up selling most and buying new and/or jdm pieces after time but it bubbled the paint up soon as the stuff made contact. |

That's what I was thinking. What are the strong brands? I want the stuff to wipe right off so I can be good and precise tracing the lip. |

industrial aircraft stripper would most likely work. I used it to strip the paint off my motorcycle rims. Its harsh shit though. dont get it on your skin. just put in on with a brush, and wait a hour or so and rinse it off with a hose and that should be that. Then just wash it real good to make sure its off. |

Cool, I'll get some aircraft stripper. Second thing, Slips are polished underneath, right? |

yes, aircraft strip did wonders on my HX wheels (stripped the dull finish and left a polished-look)...and the slips should be polished underneath. and what size victoracers are you getting?! you auto-x bastard! |

Depends if I keep these wheels for autoX. If the slips are my race wheels, 215 40 16 If I sell/trade/work something out and get some Panasports or Diamonds w/ a spacer, 235s'll do nicely... BTW I picked up the aircraft stuff just now, hopefully I'll have time to do it tomorrow. |

wear some rubber gloves man. that shit is harsh on the skin. last time i used it, it actually started eating away at the brush i was using to put it on with. |
