I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Axel Nut Wont come off!! Turned to cant get hub off axel!!

Post by BRYCE » October 03, 2004

Ya so today i was trying to put in my skunks 2 studs, and i get the caliper off and the rotor off, no problem. but then i try to take the big nut off the center of the hub and it wouldnt move a tic. Any Suggestions how to get it off?? I had a huge breaker bar on it, with me standing on that, jumping up and down... Help y0

They're rough. That's just one of those things you have to work at and curse at. You have the right idea, though.

Can't go wrong with a huge breaker bar.It helps if you put something through the studs to hold everything still.

dont forget to pound out the little insert. look inside there is a lil piece of metal from the threads pounded out into a little cutout in the nut make sure you bend/pound that back.

Jawn's talking about the little part of the nut that is pinched down into the groove. You have to get a straight screwdriver and pound it out before that nut will turn.
