I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
TSI Turbo Kits
i'd go with the tsi kit. seems more complete. like u said earlier, the main reason people had problems with the kit is because they were mechanically retarded. u get the kit and we'll get that shit rollin..as for settin up the fuel management. shouldn't be to hard. i've learned about the obd 2 systems and proper air/fuel ratios and such.. your choice.

I personally wouldn't piggy-back. For the extra you could save headaches.
The only thing with the TSI kit is the pieces. "TSI this" "TSI that" Whereas the Dezod kit has Tial, etc.
Are you planning on upgrading after you install the initial kit? I'm still leaning towards buying the parts piece by piece. Even if you pay a little more...you know it's right.

I'm not paying more money to piece it together. This shit isn't worht the money in the first place, let alone struggling in my town to get peoples cooperation in finishing shit I can't like pipe bending and etc. I'm fine with TSI shit not Tial. Besides the Dezod kit has NOTHING in fuel mangement unless u upgrade, which is too much for what u get in the 1st place. By the way, I can only piggyback unless i go AEM, which in that case you guys can start a fund for me cause its oo rich for my blood. EM guys don't have the luxury of hondata yet which is pretty cheap compared to AEM.
I haven't seen the emanage. I haven't heard much about it either.
What are your plans, though? Output? boost level?
Are you going to be happy on 330cc injectors? You're not going to do any internals eventually are you?
Do you have any pictures of the manifold w/ wastegate placement? What does the AEM go for? Keep in mind that you could run a bigger injector with the standalone and not have to upgrade them every time that you want more power. (ie...the reason that I have 1000cc instead of 660cc. Plus there is no price difference between the two)
I just went through all of these questions with myself on my setup.

I;m gonna geta setup and go from there. One step at a time. Ho wmany people have a turbo setup of any kind on an EM. Much of this is still experimental as of yet. An AEM costs too much at this point. I don't want any larger injectors at this point other then the 2 additional. I'll build the engine as I need to. But at this point 6psi at street setting will need no more then piggyback and hondata is not yet created for my engine so my other option is not necc and is too much like 1800.00 for it- I don't think so.
After looking through everything again I think it would be ideal to do the dezod kit w/ option 2 of the tsi kit, but that's not logical for the price. What are the prices again? Is there a substantially cheaper one than the other? Maybe get the dezod and get the afc on your own. Get a manual boost controller, and a turbo timer isn't necessary as long as you let it idle down after you drive it far. You're usually never in a hurry with your car anyhow. Keep the wiring to a minimum, ya know.
I like the turbo of the dezod kit because if you have a manifold with a t3 flange then you'll be open to new t3/t4 turbos granted the manifold is a good one. I'd just be nervous about the tsi kit because of the parts that they made on their own (like I said before). It would suck if their bov and wastegate sucked and you had to swap them out for something else. That's 400+ down the drain. At least they both have the intercoolers and piping. All of your hoses are there so the nickel and dime stuff is taken care of.
Weigh out the differences between the turbos, manifolds, wastegate, and bov. That's what I'm doing. I like the t3/t04e over the GT25. You'll have more room for improvment down the road. I like the Tial over TSI. Just more confidence in Tial. I also like the 4-330cc injectors over running 2 extra injectors. That's just unnecessary wiring.
This is exactly I was going through a little while ago. Your first turbo. My first turbo. I guess alot is trial and error.
Just my opinion, though. Need more input from others.

Here's something to consider, i'm upgrading to the t28 ball bearing on the TSI. I'm also in favor of 2 extra injectors over 4 larger ones. With the dezod kit, you have to upgrage $300.00 to get the 330 injectors, which are only RSX factory joints. Plus the dezod kit lists MOST fittings and hardware, where TSI is complete and cheaper. I don't like the internal wastegate idea, but i can live with it over the shitty fuel setup in the overpriced dezod kit. I can get an installed custom setup from dynamic motorsports for less then a dezod kit i want with upgrades--- and it's still missing stuff. Plus, I see Don's struggle with 4 larger injectors with an AFC over his old 6 injector setup with an FMU.
I agree with munster on this I would definately go with a manifold that has a t3 flange just cause down the road you are going to want to upgrade trust me once you feel boost all you want is more. The extra injector setup is garbage that is just my opinion (im not trying to put your idea down just giving you my experience) it dont work well because you are not sure how much fuel is going to each cylinder and when you got boost the last thing you want is not enought fuel or you will be replacing motors like brake pads. I would get a fuel management system like a hondata or aem Im not exactly sure what is available for your car but fmu and safc didnt work well with the B series cars so im sure it doesnt work that well with the newer cars. Besides till you get a fmu safc fuel pressure regulator you are only a few hundred away from a boost smart ecu. I'd definately not go cheap when boosting you only pay for it in the end when you have to buy something again because you didnt do it right the first time. Munster is finding this out about boost there is no cheap way to get it and once you have it you always want more of it.
hopefully one day ill have one.
