I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Do you have any pictures of the manifolds, Knepper?

I'm trying to tell you guys that I'm not gonna go nuts if i do this turbo setup. I do not wanna go bigger, bigger, bigger. I barely drive this car, I wanna enjoy it when I do not have a POS tune happy thing that runs ok only some of the time. So i'm not too worried about the manifold flange- if i would go bigger, I'd go custom made manifled and get it to match the existing stuff. You guys keep looking at this dezod kit thats loot money with no fuel management whatsoever unless u supply it urself or upgrade, why is this a better setup in your head? From my personal experience, hands on, I have had better luck with additional injectors over larger ones. In mangement of fuel and computers, Honda is only thinking of making a setup and the AEM is like 1800.00. I'm not looking for super hp's and impracticallity here I'm looking for nice power increaseat a reasonable price. Check the upgrade and improvements on the TSI kit, it's the one I'm going with- the Dezod is not worth it to me and neither is custom.

Go for it, Knepper. We just threw out opinions...it's still your car and your money.

I read about using Emanage on D17s and making it a returned fuel system to make bigger numbers. Either kit is going to give you a base to work off of IF you'd want more. I was looking at it in the long run and the amounts of parts to change out if you upgraded, but if you are going to put it on and be happy then good. I wasn't looking at it that way because I know how you leave things alone. Get the tsi kit since you are building on a budget with no high power. That does make more sense.

Knauff (vtecdood) and Eric (dont blink) shot down alot of my ideas. It's my first build, but I'm building for upgrades. I'm not going to be happy till it is a tune happy high hp car. That's why I bought/buying alot of the parts that I am. Less parts that I have to swap out in the end to make big numbers.

Good luck. Give me a ring when you get it.

Sorry if I offended anyone on my opinion of the extra injector setup I am just speaking of my experience with that particular setup like I said before you are adding injectors that are not putting fuel in each cylinder you are relying on your fuel equally flowing the right amount of fule by spraying it into the intake and that will not give you equal fuel to each cylinder. If you feel you will be happy with that kit then go with it just beware boost is a drug once you feel 6psi you start thinking another couple hundred bux and i can run 12psi then you run 12psi for a month or two then you want more it is definate. My example I built a motor forged pistons, rods GE sleeved block 81mm bore (stock) 22psi on race gas making about 375-400 car is fast, but then you got eric built motor very similar to mine except 83 mm bore bigger turbo 386hp pump gas. So where am i at now motor sold turbo sold going 84mm (2.0) bigger turbo point being 2years ago if I would have just listened to everyone else and went big bore to begin with I would still have an engine in my car. Lesson learned do it right the first time budgeted boost will only make you spend twice as much in the end no matter what as stated before boost is a drug.
hopefully one day ill have one.

VTEC-dood wrote:I agree with munster on this I would definately go with a manifold that has a t3 flange just cause down the road you are going to want to upgrade trust me once you feel boost all you want is more. The extra injector setup is garbage that is just my opinion (im not trying to put your idea down just giving you my experience) it dont work well because you are not sure how much fuel is going to each cylinder and when you got boost the last thing you want is not enought fuel or you will be replacing motors like brake pads. I would get a fuel management system like a hondata or aem Im not exactly sure what is available for your car but fmu and safc didnt work well with the B series cars so im sure it doesnt work that well with the newer cars. Besides till you get a fmu safc fuel pressure regulator you are only a few hundred away from a boost smart ecu. I'd definately not go cheap when boosting you only pay for it in the end when you have to buy something again because you didnt do it right the first time. Munster is finding this out about boost there is no cheap way to get it and once you have it you always want more of it.

FMU and afc did me just fine biatch. but the hondata is just a few hundred away if you don't have the parts already on the car or laying around.
