breaking down misc. manufactures.

as we get more members the variety of cars will get bigger and bigger. since its mostly a honda/acura dominated site at the moment i have them broken down into there years to keep the clutter low.

[my buddy tom. slowej6. is working on a site thats kind of the same setup]

would a breakdown of different manufactures better the site at all? for instance:

nissan:
s13 [89-94]
s14 [94.5-98]
300z. 350z [all years]
[other chasis codes?]

mazda:
fc [86-92]
fd [93-95]
rx8 [04+]
[other chasis codes?]

toyota:
supra mkiii [86.5-92]
supra mkiv [93-98]
[other chasis codes?]

this wont take place for awhile because it will be 2 much for the little amount of members needed to start posting in all of the forums. but something to look forward 2.

breaking down the nissan i would just make it

s13/s14
300zx/350z

no real reason to break up the s13 and s14 since they are basically the car and everybody does the det swap in either.i'm sure u can specify ?'s for both chassis in the same forum for both cars.then the 300z and 350z dont really have a huge following with the everyday tuners yet,so maybe just call a forum for those 2 the Z forum or something along those lines.i dunno just some suggestions

good idea. what about like celica chasis codes? there is some celica people here. and also dsm chasis codes for the eclipse. and lancer.

celica chassis codes i'm not too familiar with,but like the nissans the following with those cars is there,but nothing compared to the likes of honda/acura.as for the eclipse/lancer,hmm thats tough since the lancer isnt a dsm but yet if u changed it to mitsubishi autos or something then that might "confuse" some of the eagle talon/plymouth laser owners that are accustomed to seeing the dsm name.so maybe just make a seperate forum for lancers away from the dsm forum,either way i'll post in both if need be and i am sure others will as well.

ok cool. i dont think we have many talon people here so changing the name really wouldnt piss people off i dont think. i could run lancer and eclipse on there then. u think i should split the eclipse chasis up? from like the older 1st get style. and 2nd gen? screw the new eclipses they are gross. i only wanna add up 2 a 99 i think thats the leat year they looked good?

yea the chassis for dsm's go 1g-90-94 then 2g 95-99,but since the new big thing in the dsm scene is doing the 1g motor swap i would just leave them all together since they are all in all the same car,with just some "minor" mechanical differences.

BTW..yes that new thing they call an eclipse is sickening
