I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

then whats the point of running windows? and why would you run windows if all you are gonna do is run that music software? i would be watchin pron like all the time and getting in mad accidents

I took the RSX Metra aftermarket dash kit and took the LCD apart. I used the front part of the LCD screen and cut the metra dash kit and epoxied them together. Then I bondo'd and sanded and bondo'd and sanded, then painted. It came out pretty good I guess.IN2deep wrote:if this has been covered sorry i must have missed it, i can hanlde the tech side of the computer but my question is whit the "kit" that the screen went into? did u custom build it for your car or did u buy a plastiv kit for your car then fit the screen to it? what did u do to mold the screen into the kit ?

this is in testing stage, before I disassembled it.
this is once I modded it into the dash kit:
here is what the dash kit looks like before I cut it :
for software, I am using:XP Pro
Roadrunner + LSx skin w/ acura symbol
iGuidance 2.1.3
xport3 (com port sharing program)
daemontools
winamp 2.95
netstumbler
the powersupply sends the PC a 'power button' push signal. It basically shorts the power button for a second, it'd be just like you hitting your PC's power button. The PC itself then decides what to do, based on the settings in Windows/BIOS you set. I have mine setup to hibernate. Basically it saves whats in windows ram, to a file, then shuts off. The whole process takes about 8 seconds power off/on.
for those interested in cost, I have a cost tally going here:

so are the programs that you have installed there the only programs that windows runs? did you set them to load at startup? did you have to create startup items for them? did you have to tweak the registry?
