I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

New ride for the daily status SON!

Post by Zero » June 17, 2010

so whats up fellas?

this is a pic of the car just before i bought my new toy.
Image this is what it looks like after i cleaned the outside. notice the paint. i havent even polished or waxed the car yet O_O. the only thing that suck is there are some rust spots otherwise ruining the paint that almost looks flawless. on top of that the car has only 87k on the odometer! thats about 110k less then my EK :guns: also took the rims off and slapped on the rims that are to be the daily rims... and i dont think i will change them unless its over to the MR5s O_O
Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image this car is the look i will be going for except with MR5s lol. i already have the front lip just need the rear wing and the bumpers paint matched along with the side mouldings redone.
Image which are right here if you havent seen them

this update was alittle late but here it is.

took some shots for fun and oh my god my MR5s are going to give this car a look that will make haters melt.
Image got the junkyard Si for $200 as a parts car.
Image Image Image Image ill be using the hood among other things. the fenders are in the car and so is most of the interior minus the seats. also the rear glass doesnt have the defog lines or rear windshield wiper unlike my Dx and has a third brake light (which i want to install).

Just ordered some stuff for the hatch. Distributer cap, distributer rotor, spark plug wires, water pump, timing belt, fuel pump, fuel filter, altenator belt, and a/c belt. I also managed to get ahold of a cam gear from a guy in Canada.

So in a nut shell I'll be doing some work to get the carburated motor up and running soon. I've also installed a rear cargo cover I found in the Si on the Dx. I've also took off the hatch on the red Si so I can take it appart later. I really need to get the blue car over to the where the red one is so I can start working on them.

Gonna two tone the Dx with the lower part silver. Still need to replace the windshield and seal all the rust spots so they don't get worse on the Dx. The hood on the Si is gonna have to be sanded down and flat blacked until I can figure out what color the Dx was repainted. It's also why I'm gonna two tone it since I want the bumpers to be painted. Apparently it's how the OEM two tone was done for these cars so I think it will look good when I'm done.

yeah i did some research on it because i didnt know what color the car had been painted. lucked out in finding out that the whole front bumper, everything under the side mouldings and the whole rear bumper was part of the two tone setup. that makes this much easier and less bull crap for me to worry about. i just need to worry about the rust spots that need to be filled or patched up being color matched.

trailered the Dx over to my cousins house and parked it next to the Si. will get some shots of them together later.

also went to the junkyard and they had a 87 camgear witht he woodruff key and bolt so i snatched it up. thought that i had gotten the wrong cam gear from a guy in canada but it seems that the timing belt i got might be the wrong one. either way having two cam gears is money since i do have two motors that are both missing them.

im just waiting on the oil pan seal and the belt for the alternator then its tune up time for the Dx. ill be running Royal Purple in it just to be safe since it hasnt been started in a while even though the motor only has 87k on it.

will keep you updated as things progress.
