My new 240, SR20DET VS VG30DETT?

Ok guys i just registered on the site not to long ago, because i found out i am buying a 240sx, i dont have pics yet but i will very soon , i am a complete new person to 240's until i saw this one i have to buy for its unbelievably low price. I walk up to this guy mowing his lawn and noticed his 240 out (by the way hes about a block away from me and i can vouch that the car doesnt leave the garage in the winter) i asked him if he was interested in selling it. He said yes, and i asked what price range he was looking at. He quoted me about a grand, i can honestly say the interior looks brand new and the exterior is godlike. Not ONE spot of rust, even under the hood it looked good. So people i find myself buying this car within the week, and im already looking at engine swaps , my friend told me that the 240 would prolly be at its fastest with the VG30DETT but he said hed rather has a SR20. So which do i buy? I dont know much about either of the engines so info would be greatly appreciated

congrats on the car. and thats a seeet price.

as far as motor's go i would either sr20 or rb26. the rb26 would be pretty extreme.

Haha yeah go sr20 tony, and yes, that fucking car wants to make me shit my pants. its a 1990 240sx fastback, blue with grey interior, only problem is it is auto, but that will be fixed along with engine swap, it has about 110k on it, once again, engine swap

. So from was ive seen the car is insane, if its nice out i might go take pictures of it and post em. Pretty funny that he didnt have a forsale sign on it and you might buy it. Now all you gotta do is get your licence tony

a VG swap?is ur friend retarded?

anyways, if ur 240 is an auto like someone stated earlier, finding all the parts needed to convert to a 5 speed can be difficult at times.just do the sr20det swap, its a direct bolt in, and will run good guaranteed.

Infiniti J30t = 240 chassis + VG30DETT
