Well I picked her up on Saturday. Put the Ground Control/ Koni Yellow combo on, camber kit, installed the side markers, headlights are bolted up but need to be wired for the foglights. I am picking up the front bumper this Friday, and once I have cleaned up the engine bay and interior, I will get some new pics up.
**Yes I am a pic whore. |

Thanks everyone. No the paint isn't original, but it is the original color, Aztec Green Pearl. I just picked her up this last Saturday and have been busy putting the suspension on, and the likes. As far as the head lights, I did not do them, they had been done right before I bought them. However, I did do the bumper lens' and it is the same procedure. This took me about 2.5 hours while watching Friday Night Lights...but it may take longer due to the size of the bumper lens vs head light lens. Do not rush the process. The sanding process, especially with 600, will take however long you want it to, depending on how "clean" you want the lens. You will need to get some 600, 800, and 1000 (1200) grit sand paper. Soak the paper for at least 15 minutes, put some dish soap on the lens to help with lubrication, and sand away. Keep dipping the sand paper back in the bucket where your sand paper continues to soak. This will keep the sand paper wet, as well as rinse off any "residues." You will use the 600 to knock out the big scratches and pits in the lens. Then you will take the 800 to help sand out the minor scratches left by the 600, and then the 1000 (1200) grit will be to take out the scratches from the 800. 1000 or 1200 grit will leave VERY VERY VERY minor scratches and leaves the lens dull. Once you are finished with sanding, you will then need to take some buffing compound and a buffer to buff out the dullness and shine up the lens. The process described here is for PLASTIC lens' only. Hope this helps, but of course I will throw in a disclaimer. If you do this, you take full responsibility for the outcome of the work, and I (Marble) will not be held responsible for any damage that you may cause, whether to self, or parts. |

OMG I ruined my headlights and it's all your fault marble!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate you!!!!!!!!!!! jkjkjkjkjk anyway, thanks for the write up... just one last question... was there a specific type of "buffing" compound you used? i've heard people use a special polish for plastic... but i've never had any luck finding it in stores... i'm just curious as to what you used... thanks man and once again... the car looks great! one of the cleanest looking DAs i've seen... |
