So I bought a mountain bike.
Image
05' gary fisher x-caliber 29er... avid disc breaks, sl front shock with motion dampening control.
it, clipless pedals, 29inch wheels (normal mountain bike wheels are 26inch, bigger wheels mean easier riding over debris and other stuff, as well as a higher top speed and better cornering cause a larger contact patch)

its pretty cool, the cross country team for gary fisher who just won nationals is sponsered by Subaru.

wow, nice bike. Your crazy though unless your actually going to use it to mountain bike. Because there are cheaper models that will provide the same comfort. I know the low Gary Fischer models have the rock shox that work just fine, and you really dont need disk brakes unless your going downhill really fast...

to sum it up, good buy if you use it right

 waste of money if you ride it to school

He's talking about debris and such, so I think he'll be using it to ride at least trails, and disc brakes are sooo much better than rim-clamps, better feel and greater stopping ability.

Nice bike y0!

Awesome bike.

$1093.00 isn't too much for a mountain bike w/ disc brakes, front shocks, etc. Great buy if you ask me.

Try dumping that into a bmx bike that you snap the frame in half in a year.

I spent the entire day on single track, and disc brakes are not just for downhill rather any place with water cause normal rim breaks suck in mud...

I want to do single track and cross country camping.... thus I got a 29er...

Nice.

I was going to race cross country a few years ago. Just got too busy to start training.
