i got into cars(mainly hondas) just because of the fact that my first car was my 93 Civic that my parents help me buy...and i just wanted to make it look nicer and started lookin on the internet found customcivics.com and none of them were into the whole body kits and all that crap so i never got into it. same with clubcivic....and i really didn't get into the jdm scene until i came here....so thank you thejdm

My props goes to everyone here at thejdm as well. Everyone here keeps me motivated to stay with it when I'm getting sick of the car.

Locally, Jon got me heavier and heavier into the whole jdm thing. I wanted SOME jdm parts. Didn't think my whole exterior and half of my interior would be SiR, though.

Boob (sleepinonacreeper) got me into Hondas. I always was a motorhead and grew up around muscle cars. Once it was proven that a Honda could run I was all over it. Too bad we never found a 95 black coupe, though. That's what I'd be rocking now. I guess it owe it mostly to his Mad Rex, though. haha.

Everyone at Hybridynamics. they helped me out showing me that there really aren't limits and are some of the coolest and most knowledgable guys around. If it wasn't for them I would be running around with a Greddy kit on a LS or something. Thanks for helping me spend money! I thought I was doing alright by myself, though. haha.

to be honest with you - and most of us altoona thejdm guys can agree - I credit Darren (hercules) and his brother jimmy and some of his friends (rupp, don (can't spell his last name) aka sikblugsx, and some others) for what started my whole craze.

I remember darren and I would talk for hours about what we wanted to do with our cars when we were like 13 or 14... Darren inherited an old 4 door accord and about 4 crx's after that (before he was 16) and i was to get my mom's 1g auto NT talon. We really only talked about exterior stuff at the time ... but arounda year later we started talking about wanting to do stuff. I wanted to ditch the talon and get a civic or something and put a b16a in it ... i didn't know what it was, how much it cost, but i knew it was cool.

Darren was the first people i knew that had a swap ... years and years ago ... LS swapped CRX... took down plenty of locals. Since then he's been a mad man. Attempted an all motor budget single cam build for his next crx ... eventually swapped for another ls. Then bought an integra gsr and messed with that. Then bought the cx he owns today ... put the single cam in the integra and daily drove that and put the gsr in his civic. Now he's the only dude i know personally rocking a k swap.

As for what drives me now ... it's my three closest friends. Popeye (todd), Hercules (darren), 30stones (duanne). It's fun just trying to outdue eachother and keep it all in fun. None of us get mad if someone's car's faster - we just buy something else. We work on cars together, drink beer together, help eachother with what parts to buy, hit up the track togethr, shut down local ricers together... everything...
