You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. JDM is something that has changed alot in my years. I have been in the scene for 10 years almost now. JDM went from a RHD convrsion and maybe a JDM front on a DC2. Now it is I got these parts, or this engine.
JDM to me means making the car close to what it looks like in Japan. USDM sucks. Toyota makes the ist. Here it is a Scion xA. I am making my car look as close to a JDM ist as I can, why? Because in the place I work at there are 6 Scion xAs. Mine is the only one that says ist. So when I go out with friends people see my car and say, What the hell is an ist? I then tell them. It just makes my car different.
Now I hate biters that buy fake shit, slap a mugen center cap and say it is real. Those bastards suck. I mean if you buy some wheels that are knock-offs, say so. The real deals are expensive as hell, so if you can't ropck the real, accperciate it and say so when you buy the fake ones.
The other problem I have with the scene is the bastards who buy a car and say it is something it isn't. IE a guy with a civic coupe with civic type r badges on it. The type r was one vehicle, a hatchback. You coupe wasn't. So I hate to see that.
Honestly JDM is whatever you want it to be. All the way show, maybe a crazy touge car, badass drift bitch. Or just a clean daily driver. But as long as it is what you want it to be.

Yeah the scene is blowing up, But like Zero said.....the ones that use the real shit will get the respect that is coming to them. I rock Mugen, but am slowly starting to add Spoon, J's, and other JDM products to my car. Many people ask is the quality really that different from knock-off to authentic. IT IS! Trust me. Exterior parts are really the only thing that I found don't fit up right.
Sure Password makes the J's knock-off intake. And honestly, you can't tell the difference. I believe both use the same filter. Is the quality the same.....I can't answer that because I have never seen either one of them.
Rota's.....boy, oh boy. To set things straight on Rota's....The slipstreams, well don't shoot the messenger, but I was told they are actually lighter that the Spoon SW's. Are they better.....who's to say. Rota makes good wheels, and cheap. So if that's what you want. get it. But don't be ashamed of them to the point you through on center caps from a wheel from Mugen or someone else.

i can honestly say that "JDM" has made a big impact on the way i look at things...
honestly who doesnt like a clean well performing car???
my personal goal it to have a car that has a nice exterior, that i can take out and rip it...autoX, road race...whatever. Not a car that has 20's airbags, a huge body kit and bumping stereo that is gonna fall apart on the first corner of the track...lol
