I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Its been a while...

Post by tenchu » May 29, 2009

I apologize for my lengthy absence! Been going through quite a few different things lately. Moving from city to city, state to state, and what not. In the last year i've lived in 7 cities and 3 states. I was supposed to get discharged from the military as some of you know (which is what I wanted), but I ended up getting put in jail for a month, then returned to active duty. So here I am, in Iraq for the 2nd time. I got internet again, and am starting to get everything straightened out again, so i'll try and get on here a little more often! I miss my home at thejdm! Glad to see its still going on and hasn't fell off! Well, on a car note, i'm trying to decide what I want to build when I get back to the states. As most of you know, i'm a family man now, so I am looking for a Tahoe/Suburban for the family, going for a all-black setup, black paint, black lights, black limo tint, and black 26" rims. Yeah, I know, its not JDM style, lol, but its not a Japanese car, and 15" rotas just dont look good on a big-ass Chevy Suburban :P. But as far as MY car goes, I was looking into getting a G35 Coupe, but after realizing how much parts for that thing costs (and the little gain they receive) I kinda lost interest. I also have an RSTi in the back of my mind (Old-School Impreza 2.5RS converted to an STi). I want to build an s2k but the whole 2-seat thing just fucks shit up, lol. And I don't want anything FWD, time to move up in the world! :P. I thought about another 240sx, but they're getting to be quite played out nowadays. One of my crazier ideas I have, and I really wonder what peoples opinions are on this, is, well, a TRUE build... I was thinking about getting an 80's Mitsubishi Starion/Chrystler Conquest and putting a GM LS6 (C5 Corvette Z06) powertrain into it. It will require a LOT of work, yes, but it would be sick fast, and a hellofa sleeper! Well, take care thejdm! Give me some ideas if you have any.. Something older, not played out, RWD or AWD, and that has potential!
