I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

92-95 coupe...go for an OBD1 swap. Little less money and alot more potential.

If you're on a budget (which it seems like you are) stay away from R motors. Just because of that R you're going to pay. GSR motors are hard to find, and they'll rape your wallet just as much.

I was looking for a GSR motor, but I wasn't about to try to swap an OBD1 into my OBD2 car because I didn't want the wiring issues. OBD2 motors are also horrible to find. Therefore I'm going with a nonvtec LS block and building myself an LS/Vtec using a B16 head and various typeR internals.

I'm going to wrap money into the various internals, but I'm still going to be spending less than I would for a straight GSR or ITR swap (OBD2), I'm going to be able to build exactly what I want, and end up putting more power to the wheels.

There's alot of options when you're looking at swaps. I've been trying to iron mine out for over a year and a half now. It's not really something that you can just jump into unless you have the money to blow.

Check these links out. They may give you an idea on what you want to do:

Are you gonna be using this for something to make fast? If so go with a 92 4 door DX. They weigh less than all the Civics except the CX/VX/DX hatches. Of course, if you want all the comforts like power blah blah blah and a moon roof, of course go for the EX.

they also have rear disk brakes as opposed to all other 5th gen's with the exception of the si.

My sister is in the process of starting a 92 DX sedan project. Her ultimate goal is semi-flat hot pink paint with Spoons and a boosted swap.
