Just wondering if anyone knows of a high temp engine paint that's similar in colour to the one on the Mugen Valve Cover? I've tried VHT, but the only offer a flat Gray. ![]() |

Nah it's much lighter than that. I'd say find a regular paint to do it with, Valvecovers run cooler than other parts of the engine. |

Hmm Cast Iron Gray eh? That actually looks pretty close. Who makes it, do you remember off hand? Did you do a high temp primer too? Or just straight paint? I tried using that VHT Wrinkle Paint. Christ is that shit a challenge. Definatly not a paint for the perfectionist. haha So now I was wanting to go with something a little different, lighter in colour. |

I wrinkle painted the smooth GSR cover on my CRX and it came out fine? What brand did you use? |

i bead-blasted it first. no more bumpy black paint, no primer, just painted then sanded the lettering , bu tbe careful on a dx anyway the H is real close to the cover. i taped it all off so no t to scratch the paint i just sprayed so nicely. no clear coat either. sorry i dont remember the brand, got it at Advanced Auto.. same brand that has the colored caps for hot engine paint and one is "ford Gray" but that looked ot light so i got this (same brand). |

I used VHTs Wrinkle Paint. Followed the instructions to a T. And the wrinkle was very inconsistant, infact some areas didn't even wrinkle. Ford Gray. I know what brand your talking about now. |
