So I ended up repainting my original valve cover Iron Cast. As the one currently on my vehicle some guy wanted it. lol Anyways I did a premo job this time around, even let the damn thing cure for 4 days without touching it. Anyways as I was putting on the valve cover ground, I guess I accidently knicked it with the wrench |

hmm how bad is it... and it must not hold up to good if you knicked it with a wrench. I would try the old hole in the cardboard, but i honestly dont think it will turn out like you want it to |

The paint holds up. Its surprising. It must have just been an area that I didn't apply a heavy first coat too. |

Ok another idea just came to mind. Powder Coat. However can the single cam valve covers be powder coated? |

^ I don't see why not. But if you powdercoat the whole cover be sure to take the baffle off, otherwise the glass beads and what not get trapped in and that = bad news for your engine. |

If I'm not mistaken, isn't your valve cover powder coated like a bright neon orange? And thanks for the tip. |

Yea, mines powdercoated. and yes, usually they can be. But if one is torn or cracking, I would get new ones. THere not too expensive. Taking the baffle off is a task though, so is tacking it back on. Maybe use some sealant over the new tacs when you put it back on |
