Post subject:  IACV

Since robry apparently didn't make this post last night like he was supposed to...

K, here's the dealio:

If the car is up to temperature, and I sit at a light/am idling for say... a minute or longer, I get a CEL. If I rev to say... ~1500 rpm, the car won't hold that rev, it'll just fluxuate up and down like 500rpm. The CEL says it's the IACV. I'm wondering if anyone has had this, and if it is in fact a bad IACV. It only does it again, when the car is up to operating temp, and then left to idle for a while. If I turn the car off and then back on it's fine until I'm stuck idling again at a light or what have you.

that sounds like an idle air control valve problem, remove it and spray some brake cleaner on it, common honda issue....it gets dirty, also, sometimes you'll have bouncy idle in that case hope that helps

call advance or autozone too.

Anything's cheaper than dealerships, but call them just so you know.
