The feeling that you want to give everything up, sell your car, and start over? I got that feeling today. It wasn't the first time. I just feel that I want to start over with a new platform, or even the same platform, just build it with what I know now. I've chalked it up to this em1 being my first car. So, I basically built it from trial and error (a.k.a. the expensive and dirty way to do it). I've decided to officially make this my project car. Despite the fact that I am still in college and dont have that much money. I want to invest in another car. More than likely an ek hatch or a dc2. I can find either for roughly high 3 to low 4 thousand range. That amount of money should take me about 6-7 months to save. I want to build it right, from the start. No second guessing the parts I buy, no settling for less. I will be patient this time... I just feel that it takes the fun out of driving a car that you build, when you drive it every single day. It loses its flavor too fast. I would keep the new car stock for the most part for awhile, and finish my original civic. I even contemplated selling the civic today, kinda sad...but I dont think I can bring myself to selling it. I've always wanted it to be a track car. We'll see what the future holds. THanks for reading my rant, kinda feels good to get it off my chest...as gay as that sounds ![]() |

and now china is on the rise, increasing their demand for petrolium products. the only thing we can hope for is vehicle manufacturers to make more hybrid vehicles if we do not want the "supply" to run out, and that way if people still "HAVE TO HAVE" (total bullshit, you DONT need a hummer in SF cali, the weather does not require you to) an SUV then make something that is at least fuel efficient. the reason being is that more vehicles that get better MPG will essentially "increase" supply artificially because less gas will be used, and supply as it is will increase due to the fact that less is used....its a chain reaction. i am suprised that no one has really had the foresight to stop and say "HEY, what will we do when fuel prices become astronomical?" for mfg purposes, etc |

Back on topic. I'm doing exactly this with my 240, and let me tell you it's even more frustrating to "do it right" because people don't always realize the sacrifices you have to make to complete your dream car correctly. People will ceaselessly ask you when your car is finished and give you disgusted/annoyed looks when you tell them that a vital parts is still on it's way. Never buy a part that you will not be 100% happy with, but happily use the stock parts until you can afford what you want. Stock rims and tires on a car that has easily 600rwhp isn't good, but it's better than waiting to drive it until you can afford the wheels/tires/5-lug hubs/brakes that all need to come at once. Sorry to vent in your thread, but there's a lesson to be shared. Project cars are best, if you're patient and capable of telling other people to shut the fuck up and wait. |
