I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

first day back with the integra: first impressions

Post by miyagi » January 04, 2006

So I went and picked up my integra from hyrbidynamics today after awaiting it to be done and tuned. I drove home on wet roads, barely getting on it at first ... and inching into the throttle from time to time. I was extremely excited. I finally got some decently dry roads and did a 3rd gear low boost pull .... extremely impressed. It pulled very hard, boost built fairly quickly and it was smooth. I got nervous because of conditions and shifted pretty early.... kept doing this until we hit some dryer roads ... 2nd gear low boost .. even more impressed. I kept messing around the whole way home ... it was so hard to stay off throttle haha.

We hit a nice dry patch and I did a 3500-6000 4th gear high boost pull .... Probably the most excited i've evr been in one of my own cars haha.

As i drove around town today ... i started messing with 2nd gear even a little bit of first. Believe it or not, even with the cold pavement and semi wet roads - traction was not an issue ... it hooks up quite well... only loosing for a split second at the top of the lower gears.... even at full tire pressure

Moment of the night .... sitting at bp, a local 1g DSM kid comes revving the guts out of his car ... i noticed who it was and it happened to be a kid who swapped his previous 12.3 @ 115 awd but spinning a bit setup into a new shell. He asked if i wanted to do a 1st gear roll off a light because he did not want to launch.

I let him get the slight jump before i stepped on it and i lost traction immediately ... i let it hit off limiter a few taps before i felt it had regained a bit of traction, shifted to second, lost traction at the top of 2nd, tapped it off limiter once or twice and regained the car length he gained from the start .... hit 3rd and walked him .... i shut it down at roughly 85 mph but was pulling on him HARD. I wish i would have had my camera ... Darren (Hercules) was in the passenger seat ... we'll let him chime in if he has any input

First shut down .... keep em coming :)

Overall - SUPER IMPRESSED .... more than words can explain right now.... once again HUUUUUGE   to hyrbidynamics
