I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I would say you want at least the rear portion of the liner, so your door jams don't take abuse from the road- they're the only thing typically separating the road debris from hitting the front of your door (Unless you have an EM and newer or DC5 which has a small filler panel that clips in). I have both my cars liners 3/4 cut to allow easier bumper removal/replacement. Actually I did munster's as well. Dremels are wonderful tools.
My car is cleaner than your ass.

I'm not running any, but if I run into any problems as a result of it I'll keep the trimmed liner idea in mind. That's a good idea, may not seem ground-breaking, but it's something worth mentioning and being aware of as an option so you don't have to "figure it out" on your own when the time comes to devise a solution.
