As you all may or may not know, I've had some weird CEL issue for the last year, where it would kick a CEL out and blame the "idle air control system". Wasn't the IACV, that got replaced. Checked any vac line I could find and they all seemed fine. I was *CONVINCED* that it was a compression type issue because I've seen it burning some oil as well. 210 across the board, so now I'm just more stumped. I'm still planning an LS/VTEC swap in the near future but damn this is getting me down. I dont' want to start a project not even being sure if some of the parts I'll be moving over are f-ed or not. Sorry, just had to rant, that is all. |

I'd have to look it up again, it was literally the generic code "idle air control system malfunction" |

lol, yes, when it throws the CEL the car goes into limp mode. I have to kill the ignition to get it to clear. CEL light stays on unless I reset the ECU, but the limp mode goes off. See old thread: http://www.thejdm.com/forums/viewtopic. ... highlight= |

could it be a problem with the ecu itself? |

That's what I've been trying to figure out. Amazingly enough, somehow no one in the state of Minnesota has either an Si ECU, or something chipped that I could borrow for a day to check. I suppose I could buy something, but it's like... do I really want to blow another 100$+ on something that may or may not be the issue. |

Oh, there's plenty of owners, I already know that. The problem is they're all haters and nobody will help a brotha out. |
