ok so i build my engine over the winter and it runs fine for 4 months , then all the sudden me and fetterman were out last friday and we were putting it under a good load running people on the highway and in town for about 1/2 hour. the temp was a litle above normal then we parked the car at the bank then the temp shot up to hot , like full fucking pegged so i shut off the car and let it cool, so once cooled i start it back up then its fine, i drive back to homer city and its a little above normel agine but no problems. runs good through saturday, sunday monring runs great ythen i go to take it to the e-burgh flash light drags, then it runs good until i hit yellowcreek dip then the temp gauge is in the middle,so i coast for a bit then i pull 5psi up over nolo hill "its a pretty long hill:" i get to the top its in the 3/4 range then i coast down over the backside then back to normal temp. then i get to
e-burgh im by votech then all the sudden like a slap in the face wham back pegged off hot agin so i shut down and let cool once agfin normal temp. drive to my g/f's house in e-burgh let cool added water to make up for coolant lost on the way. missed the flashlight drags, and on the way home IT RAN FINE AND DIDNT EVEN HEAT UP ONCE. THE TEMP WAS BELOW COLD MARK.
no thermostat, and singe core rad.
this week i added 180* thermostat and a SI dual core rad and new fan "constant running"
last ngiht sitting in construction in indiana on my way to wal-slut , it goes from ok to middle then to 3/4 hot... i drive it cools down to normal... i get to wal-mart it goes to 3/4 when i park..
its like i need more airflow goign through it or someting..cause when i drove it it cooled off real quick but when it sits there it heats up..not the temp sensor because of coolant lines are hard as a rock due to pressure from hot coolant.
im still thinking head gasket, but everyone elese says no."by the way cometic HG, once agin everyne saying theres no way that they blow under 10psi.."im thinking defect.
today im going to
re-torque my head studs "incase of strectching"
pull thermostat out
add more water 70% water 30% coolant/royal purple purple ice
