im gettign a set of eagle rods and vitara pistons this weekend for my EK and i heard that you gota noch the block for the rods to clear. does anyone have any info on this or experiance with this setup. i googled it and found nothing. honda-tech mentioned someting about possibly noching block, but it wasnt distinct. i got 75mm vitara pistons 8.5.1 comp w/rings and rod bearings acl and eagle h beam rods d16y8 crank d16y8 block. please post if you got any info or experiance with this. |

off subject a little and an inside joke... is that a turbo/rotory/piston thingy. your best bet is to call both of the companies up and get the answer straight from them. they should have the research on this type of stuff and if they don' just wing it |

FJT on e-hatch.com has a similar setup. He would definitely know. I can't even take a guess. |

You have to notch the block and the crank girdle for the rods to work. This has to be done with all aftermarket rods on D-series blocks. After that your good to go, plug and play. |

i out a d16y7 turbo block toghter last year and it had JE pistons and eagle rods and they went right in with no problems, or noching everyhting cleared fnie. did you find a write up about this ??? |

I would just assemble the bottom end, rotate the crank, and check the clearance. |

Yeah Jude, i found a write up about it on D-series.org. The FJT guy Munster mentioned above posted in the write up as well, he said the only mod. needed would be to notch your block. Here is the write up............ http://www.d-series.org/forums/showthre ... eagle+rods |
