any of u guys know or know of anyone who put a k20a into a 94-01 teggy? im thinkin about doin it, but i need to know if its gonna screw wit the handling of my car since the motor is heavier?! what i mean is i dont just want to be able to go fast in a straight line, if i cant hit the bends without nose diving everywhere then im just gonna finish the b18!! comments please!!!

....heres a quick fix...change ur suspension. i.e. put a more load rated spring in the front...

just look at those guys that throw LSx's into FC's and FD's and S chassis...its all about the suspension. A good setup for the cars application will neutralize the added wieght of the motor

ummm...the weight difference between a k and b series engine is minimal at most (I think I read ~100 lb. diff.) And SS is right, it doesn't matter what engine you have, handling is about the suspension. You could have a 900lb. lead block in your engine bay and still handle accordingly if the suspension is setup and tuned correctly.

Exactly. Drop the K in, see how it rides, stiffer springs up front if needed, align it, etc. Then get the car corner weighted to balance it out. Then it'll definitely track straight. Look at a D vs B. There's a weight difference there, but it's not noticeable in the car.

Also apparently the B18's and the K20a weight the same: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=879294

I have heard alot of good stuff about doing that. Super Street 2-3 months ago put a K24 in a DC2 integra. They said that the person who owned was going to put slightly stiffer springs in front, so I would do that.

if you go on honda-tech under the type r forum there are a few guys who actually sold their type r swap for a k type s and love it and i am positive a type r guy is not going to sacrifice the handling. you shouldnt have a problem at all

Longblock-to-longblock, the K is actually lighter than a B18C (or so I read in SCC). With the transaxle bolted on, I think it's heavier by maybe a couple pounds.

Why would you assume an engine would be heavier just because it displaces more? Think of the B18 (LS) vs. B20. The B20 is based on the LS but is actually lighter thanks to the thinner sleeves.
