sooo i'm on my way to watch a movie tonight, and i drive to my house to grab some cash. Hop back in my car, go up the road about 30-35 mph (35mph speed limit) and start going around this one turn ... not noticing that my side of the road has some snow blown on it from a drift or something (it just looked like a greyish white salt covered raod) ... so i start the turn and everything goes as normal, then around halfway around the turn disaster strikes... the car continues straight... so i tap the brake, nothing... realize there is a car coming and just hold on and pray for the best. Luckily she was slowing up already from coming up a hill and getting ready to go around the turn and was nearly stopped by the time we hit... so damage was minimal and injury was non-exisitant. Either way - by the time we hit i was only going 5-10 mph, and didn't think damage was going to be all that bad. BUT, due to my car being lowered, i caught the corner of her bumper just in the correct spot to fuck some shit up. On with the pics... the bumper isn't shown, but has some scuffing damage, along with two gashes from i dunno what ... definately repairable with some filler and paint though. The lip is untouched, and the hood is undamaged.
...and here's the damage to her car....
----Luckily I have full coverage, so if all goes well i should only have to pay a $500 deductable. I'm just hoping my insurance company will cover the cost of a new headlight and fender, since both are not factory parts. My core support is also a little bent, but only on the corner - so i should be okay. I'm going to take it to the body shop where i got my car painted originally anyway, and see if they can work soemthing out with me. I was getting ready to go down tomorrow to get a quote for a black roof and interior spray - so i'll see if they can possibly work that into the total cost, so my ins. company ends up paying for it to make it worthwhile. I've come to the conclusion that this car is bad luck, though. There have been so many problems and mishaps that it's unreal. Every time something looks up, another problem happens.... Soon enough it'll all clear and i'll just be able to drive this damn thing haha.. oh.. and I guess, what goes around comes around, here's a compilation of quotes through the past few months ..

Dammit, Waaaatters. Buy a beater and keep this thing under lock and key once it's fixed. There's something up with that car. It's cursed. |

Word. It sucks ... i just got it inspected on friday, and got it street tuned on a massive three psi. I hadn't planned on driving it much until the roads got better, but thought it was snowing, the roads were still bare except for a few certain death traps like the one i fell into.
haha my thoughts exactly - worst part is, is they were all in jest... so karma shouldn't have affected me. --- oh well ... guess we'll see what the insurance company says here in a few minutes |

Damn sorry to hear and see about your whip bro. black ice sucks ass. I hope they fix everything, since it is honda parts, just from japan, they should. I just hope you don't have a crappy insurance company like progressive. |

yea thankfully everything is O.E. that will need replaced ... but i still have a shady feeling about the whole thing. They're sending an adjuster, and i have a strange feeling that they're going to dick me and only give me about 30 bucks for a used passenger 95 teg headlight and another 50 for a fender haha. thankfully, i can get a reciept written up for the parts cost on the conversion, so maybe my ins. company will give me a break... worst comes to worst, i can grab a set of non-hid headlights for fairly cheap i guess |

well - just got back from the body shop ... they assured me my ins. company will have to pay for all the parts, regardless of whether they're factory or not. Also pointed out that my hood is cracked a little (although, i think it may have been from before... but i'll milk it anyway), core and bumper supports are both bent and need replaced, along with the fender, fender linings and headlight. Also, my radiator has a dent that looks fairly fresh, so i'll try to get a new one too. My bumper isn't bad, just scuffed with some gashes, but the body shop told me to try to get them to pay for a new one ... but they'll be able to fix the existing one... I'll keep you guys updated |

Damn, that sucks. Sad to see that happen just after you got it back on the road. Atleast no on was hurt and you walked away. I think you will be fine with your insurance, i had someone hit me with a previous car that had aftermarket parts on it and the insurance covered it all, actually got more then what it cost. |
