Some of you might have seen these on H-T where I posted some before. I spent about a month in Japan last summer with my girlfriend in southern Ibaraki-ken (About 45 minutes from Akihabara by train). I tried to see as much car related stuff as I could and managed to see quite a bit. I ended up taking like 4000 something pictures. These aren't really in any kinda order.
I saw these sitting near some of the racing shops near Tsukuba Circuit. That whole trailer would be stolen SO fast if it were in CA.
I went to the Tokyo Nostalgic Car show @ Daiba. Kinda like an American classic car show except replace the mustangs and corvettes with GC10 and 110 Skylines and S30 Fairladys.
The KPGC10 "Hakosuka" Skyline is seriously one of the coolest cars ever.
Boso-sha in the parking lot which was a show in itself.
There was a swap meet there too.
Ken Mary GC110 Skyline, with the required oil cooler and angled headlights.
Rocky Auto of Nagoya is one of the leading names in the Japanese classic car scene. They sell fully restored Fairladys and Skylines with RB26, N/A RB20's with 6 throttle set-ups and other swaps.
My girlfriend's parents house is only about 10 miles from Tsukuba Circuit so I was able to go there a few times.
S15 on the Gymkhana pad.
Dissassembling his N2 Flares like a model kit!Went to an MSC Drift Exhibition at Daiba in the rain. Orido and Taniguchi were there, as well as a number of 3-car drift teams competing against each other.
Unfortunatley May and June is the rainy season in Japan, but that doesn't stop them from doing anything. We took the water bus from Asakusa to Odaiba.
Asakusa is home to the biggest pitcher of beer in the world, I mean the Asahi building.
Tokyo is kinda like Venice.
The Rainbow Bridge, if youve ever played Tokyo Extreme Racer, youve probably driven on it.Dunlop sponsored Dress Up Car meeting @ Odaiba.
Vans are like the pickup trucks of Japan.
The next modification I do to my Accord Wagon is going to be a HUGE graphic of Hamasaki Ayumi on the back window.
Youve probably heard of Megaweb, Heaven on earth for Toyota fans.
This was taken at a Monkey Park near Mt. Tsukuba. Seeing as how me, my girlfriend, and my girlfriend's mom were the only people there that day, Japanese don't share the same appreciation of monkeys doing backflips as I do. |

If megaweb is heaven for Toyota fans, Twin Ring Motegi is heaven for Honda people. There was a big gymkhana meeting when I was there.
Early model NSX-R in the Honda Collection Hall @ Motegi.
You can't tell from the picture but this shinkansen was doing like 100mph when it passed through Oyama station in Tochigi.
Asians driving imports are hella hated on in Ikebukuro.
You see the most random stuff in rural Japan.
Tsukuba Circuit again.
This was the waiting area at my girlfriend's dad's barber shop.
I wish I could quit you Japan!I have a ton more pics if you guys are interested, they are a little outdated now but I can re-live my experiences with them and get super pumped for going back semi-permanently next year. |

It's great there. When I was riding from Narita to the Tsukuba area on the night I got there the combination of being up for like 24 hours + jet lag + soaking it in was like being in a dream. |
