I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

How much should i sell for?

Post by miyagi » September 07, 2007

Alright ... so i've come to the point that im ready to sell me car. It's not that i'm sick of it, or that i want out of the scene, or that i can't afford it ... it's just that i want something new. I've wanted an E46 M3 since the day they came out, and they're 'cheap' enough now that i can afford one and still be comfortable.

Here's the catch ... I don't know what to sell my car for. I threw a thread on honda-tech without a price and i know i'm not going to get much feedback on that. I don't want to lowball myself, or list too high.

Since I know a lot of people on this site, and a lot of people have seen my car in person or at least know a bit about it, i figured i'd come here for advice.

If you need a full mods list, I can list one ... but i'll just give a quickie for now.

95 GSR, 86,XXX original miles on chassis.
~2 year old paint including all jambs and under carpet.
Authentic JDM ITR HID conversion
Stock block ~9:1 B16, GSR head w/ ITR valve train/gsr cams, cometic headgasket, ARP studs.
GSR Tranny, OBX LSD, clutchmasters clutch/flywheel
Hondata S300.
GT30R powered making 300whp+
JDM ITR Recaro SRD's and some interior/exterior goodies.
eibach suspension, full-race traction bar.

The car will be sold with an extra set of brakes and any other OEM parts I have laying around.

Optional is a built, but unassembled, 85mm B16 shortblock.

My gameplan is to have a list price NOT including the built motor ... so if I get lowballed on both, i'll still get my what i need.

I have a price in mind as far as what i'd like to list it for ... but i'd like to get feedback first. I'd like to pay off all of my debt with this sale so my only worry is the new car payment.

For those of you who don't know ... here are some pics. I honestly think that with some suspension, nice wheels, a colormatched bay and a superclean it'd be close to magazine quality ... but maybe that's just me.
Image Image Image Image PLEASE HAVE YOUR OPINION FOR PRICE BE A LISTING PRICE RATHER THAN A PRICE YOU WOULD PAY ... OR GIVE BOTH.

Thanks guys. I don't plan on letting this go unless I get what i need to get out of it .... but I don't want to waste the money assembling the other motor and buying suspension, wheels, blah blah blah to make it the way i'd want it if i really just plan on selling it anyway.

My opinion...10-12k for the car minus the parts.

thanks for the help guys. I think i'm going to list it for 14,500 OBO and hope for around 12.

The shortblock is considered sold, as is my ITR head and some other parts to put me over my 'pay-off-debt' amount if the sale goes through.

I don't see it selling fast, but i hope it does. I want it like a bandaid so i don't reconsider and keep it. I've got the m3 fevah baddddd
