Check the site for "specific" event info - Hype-R-Fest Here's a cut/paste quote from Grandpa, George Knighton, on Honda-Tech; "The annual NASA Virginia Hyper Fest is on schedule for July 16th/17th at Summit Point Raceway. Very easy to get to from the DC, Maryland and NoVA areas, and not that far for Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Ohio, Southern Virginia, and others. It's always fun and is a blend of racing, traditional driving schools/events, and shows and drifting. There are three race courses at Summit Point, now, and the driving school and races will be on the main course. Jefferson Circuit and Shennandoah Circuit are available but I don't know yet what events will be there. I hear that most non-race, non-school events will be at Shenandoah, the new complicated twisty 2.25 mile course, and that the hyper drives will be on Jefferson Circuit. If you have never been on the track before at all, the "hyper drive" is a good way to get your feet wet. It only costs $40 and you have an instructor for what amounts to one 20 minute HPDE Group One session, to see if you like it or not. National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Summit Point Raceway The new/updated Web site for Summit Point has a course talk-through that shows you "the line" all the way around the main course. This will be a blast, and there will be a big Honda turnout, especially among those of us who couldn't make the Integra Type-R Expo (5). By the way, if you qualify for Summit Point's FATT (Friday At The Track) Group 2 or Seat Time, you could still get into their event on Friday, making it a nice three day weekend with lots of seat time." (editing done by me) OK - So some of you might have questions... that I may not have answers to. So... please, please, please refer to the websites (linked above) to assist you with your questions. If the info provided at the websites doesn't help you then post your question here and I'll do my best to get it answered from an appropriate source. |
