Post subject:  polishing the lip!

i picked up a set of sprint hart cp wheels last night. condition wise, they're in really good shape. i'm going to be re-spraying them RED, so the center part will look shiny and new again, but the lip is a bit dull. how can i make my somewhat oxidized (?) lip look like this: Image would it just be a matter of polishing or will i need to take a fine grit sand paper and do it that way?

I would try to use polishing compound on a dremel or something. Then use an aluminum polish...

Just a suggestion.

I belive that lip isn't clearcoated.

I would use some Mother's Billet/Aluminum Polish. I hear it works great.

You could also just use a light polish like Meguiar's #9 (Pep Boys).

Either or will work, but #9 would be safer and also you can use it on your paint :)
