Hood pins.. anyone?

Well, yesterday on my way to church with the wife, my hood decided it didn't like how it was latched and came flying up at 60 mph smashing into my windshield. The hood is trashed and the windshield will need replaced. it just sucks b/c i spent all day Saturday pulling the single cam and dropped in the ls from the other hatch. It was quite the experience. I'm really surprised the safety did not catch it. So after the insurance looks it over and I purchase a new hood i am thinking about getting hood pins. I'm curious if they are hard to install, and also what would be a good brand to look into. Thanks

Aerocatch....harder then regular hood pins, but the dopeness is unmatched.

I've installed aerocatch. That means it's easy.

Traditional hoodpins are even easier, they're one of the first steps of aerocatch.

kk. i got my insurance check. $1200 in damage. gonna use my hood off my 92, replace the glass and fix my rear quarter panels..

no roof was good, hood smashed to shit, windshield is getting put into tomorrow morning at work. It was over $1400 in damage, the fenders got damaged after i closed and re-opened hood. They covered my decals which was cool. it just sucks because all I have left is to swap my rear brakes from my 92 hatch over to the 95 and then she'll be pretty much complete. All I really need now is a front lip and minor body work and a respray and I'll be happy until I go boost!

other than my IACV, my car on cold start idles at 3000 rpm and when warm it is at 500 rpm... So I believe there is a way to clean that??

You can pull the IACV off and hose it out with carb and choke cleaner. Alot of times the screens on the holes get plugged up.

k but does that sound like thats what would cause that? and that is the sensor on the back bottom of the manifold correct?

Yeah they can cause erratic idling. Not sure where they are at on B-series motors, they are on the back left of D-series manifolds right next to the throttle body.
