Install time: eh, 30 minutes - 1 hour depending on how much you fuck around
This is the idiots guide to installing city lights. No question went unanswered and no answers went unquestioned.
Here we go. Start by taking the car cover off of your car. If you are taking pictures also, make this this one is way overexposed.
After the cover is off, walk around to the rear of your car and try to put the cover back in the trunk. Reach into your pocket and realize you left your keys on the tool box. Go back and pick up the keys, unlock the trunk, and put the cover inside. (next two pictures)
We are constantly trying to find ways of safer product installation, so be sure to have a friend double check that the trunk is in fact closed. 
After the trunk is latched and closed securely double check that the mirror is not folded anymore.....for safety.
Now that all the safety precautions are out of the way, be sure that the carport plumbing is facing your car. In case of a fire, water might come out of the pipe and put it out....if you're lucky.
Go ahead and open your driver side door, and reach underneath where the steering wheel is and pull the handle that opens the hood. Close the door, walk around to the front of your car and reach under to pull the hood latch, push it up and to the left, and lift your hood open.
once you have opened your hood, pull out the hood prop and place it in the hole in order for the hood to stay up without you holding it.
Once your hood is up safely, double check that your battery is NOT disconnected. All battery terminals should be connected, and power should definatly be on.
Now, time to get down and dirty. Go to your tool box and pull out a flathead screwdriver. Its the one with the flat head.
Just to be sure that it is truly a flat head, have another person inspect it. In this case, we used a Bennett, you can use someone else if you like.
After you have determined that it is in fact a flathead screwdriver, use the screwdriver to pop up the black plastic fasteners that hold the bumper in place, there are 7 in total.
once the fasteners are off, go ahead and tackle the screws on each side of the bumper that attach to the fender. You can use either an 8mm socket w/ extension, or a phillips screwdriver. Repeat step 11 and have another person make sure that this in fact is actually a phillips or 8mm. There are 2 of these screws, one on each side.Now, if you have my car and bumper, be sure to cut the zip-tie thats holding the bottom side of the bumper up.
proceed to pull the bumper off with caution now that there is nothing attaching it to the car. whoo hoo, your bumper is off
If you are working in a carport and are strapped for room, dont hesitate to use your roommates truck as a storage bin. Put the bumper in the bed of the truck (dont forget about it though, you will need the bumper later on in this project).
Now that the bumper is off and in the correct storage area, take a picture of your neighbor getting out of her car and walking to her apt. (If you have a bennett around, this is his favorite step in the installation).
Get the 10mm socket and start unbolting the bolts that hold the headlights in place. There are 4 for each headlight. Two on top, and one on each side. Again, have a friend check to see that you are using the correct socket size.
Once you have all 4 bolts loose and out, pull the headlight out. Make sure you disconnect the headlight harness and the parking light harness - once the headlight is out enough where you can reach it.
Once the light is out, take out the parking light harness and seperate the wires. There will be 3 wires. 1 black, 1 red/black, and 1 green/yellow. The black is ground, the red/black is constant power, and the green/yellow is the wire that makes the signal blink.
You will need to cut the red wire (power) in a spot that will allow you to put in a ponytail connector with enough space. This is the only wire you will need to cut. Strip both ends.cutting wire

they come in red too...just in case you want red ones.After both ends of the power wire are stripped, strip the power end of the city light socket. So you have three ends of wires to put in the ponytail connector. You will place the two ends of the parking light wire into the continuous part of the connector, and the city light wire into the part of the connector that only will allow wire to go one way into it. (usually the bigger hole part.
once all power wires are in the connector, clamped and locked into place. Strip the ground wire of the city light socket and attach it to the nearest ground you can see. Put the bulb in the city light socket and the parking light bulb into the socket and test the connection by putting the bulb in your mouth.
For extra security, put some electrical tape around the exposed connector and wires.
Once that is done, put the wires back in the loom and add a little more electrical tape for good measure.
More electrical tape...its black and cool looking...
Double check that everything is still working and carefully make bennett put the headlights back in.
Put the bumper back on the same way you took it off except turn the bolts in the other direction. And push down on the plastic fasteners instead of pulling up on them.
And the last step, wait until it is dark and drive around with them on claiming your the worlds biggest Laker fan ever. You can have a beer too.
And there you have it. Changing the color of bulb is easy, you dont have to take off the bumper or headlights. Just remove the socket and switch the bulb...
