I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Clanking/Rattling sound from left front wheel well over bump
I copied this from my HT post...any ideas?
Hello,
Need to bounce a few ideas off the forum to figure out this sound.
2003 Honda S2000 - 100,430 miles. Just got new alignment and tires.
When going over bumps at mid-speeds (anywhere from slow to 40+), can't really hear it due to road noise at high speeds, there is a horrendous rattling/clanking noise coming from the front, drivers side wheel well. It sounds similar to the spring rattling around loosely. Very noticeable.
It was NOT making this sound prior to the alignment. The toe was off fairly bad. I cannot recreate the noise when the car is on jacks and the wheel is off. With the wheel in the air, there is no play in the tie-rod, or wheel bearing. All bushings in the end-links and a-arms look fine. No bolts that I can check are loose, and there is no signs of rubbing anywhere. Sway bar is tight. Brakes are fine.
I did notice however, that there is a little play in the steering column where the joint is. I can grab the linkage, and when I shake it, there is a slight knocking noise. I just find it hard to believe that that would create such a loud knocking noise when driving.
Any ideas!? I will appreciate any insight.
