Im not a fan of paint matching, but i agree it would be hard to get an exact match of the interior, so do what you want, paint match would def. be easier.

Well disaster struck. The fiberglass didnt bond to the center console. So I had to sand back to a point where it did, next thing I know I was at a ponit where I am forced to start all over again. I need something I can use for sides. The fiber glass bonded well to the mdf so I may use some more of that. If you guys have any suggestions I am open to them...

try drilling holes in the plastic and putting another piece of FG on the inside of the console to bond it.

the plastic of the console, if there's FG on both sides it'll act like a rivet.

Sounds easy enough, However we still have the small problem of me needing sides for this thing. Someone told me I could use duct tape as a base and the FB would harden. What do u think?

OK so I looked up FB diy's and found this:

The guys is doing a sub box but the idea of using fleece fabric never popped into my head. If I am reading this correctly then I can go to wally world and buy some fleece fabric, coat the crap out of it with FB and those would be good sides. I wish I would have known that before I wasted so much time and FB.

Yeah, the car audio guys use fleece, get a staple gun, wrap it tight to get the shape you want, use a cheap 1" brush to apply resin, apply a few coats giving it about 90min between to try (depending on how much hardener you use) then when its to your liking, sand it down till its all even, apply a small coat of body filler, let that dry, sand down till smooth, prime, you'll see your imperections, if bad, more body filler, if not too bad, sand some more, prime again, keep doing till its perfect, then paint.
