I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

My first post at thejdm (Honda enthusiast here)

Post by tim_adams85 » August 22, 2005

Hey, everyone. I learned about this site this past weekend when speaking with the guys from Built and Team MCM at the WNY Honda meet. Cool guys with real nice cars, and one of them told me about this site, so I figured I'd check it out. Looks good so far.

I'm not a huge fan of JDM, mainly because I can't afford the "real" shit, and being a starving college student, living on my own, my money is limited. But I do work a lot and invest quite a bit of what I can into my cars.

Right now, I own two honda civics:

My EF is the faster of the two. I bought this car when it was stock about four years ago, and have since gotten it pretty close to where I want it (for now). As it sits, it has a mildly built 12.3:1 CR b17, but I'm in the process of building an LS bottom end to put in over the winter to make some real powaaa come spring (my first turbo project). Here's a pic: Image And my EG is the slower, but more dependable one. It has a bone-stock b18b with a 4.9 itr tranny and some suspension mods. It's slow in a straight line, but real nice for autocross. Here's a pic (though no longer on the slips): Image If anyone was at the WNY meet this past Sunday, you may have seen my EG. But this site is so huge, I doubt anyone who reads this will be from there. But anyway, hope to start contributing to a cool forum. :)

Rock on. Dan and Chad from Built have the zippers stuck on their pussy pants.

Glad to hear you like the site. You don't have to be totally jdm to post here or anything. Just a site full of guys that like clean cars.

Stick around.

Sup chief. Welcome to the site. You don't have to be jdm to hang don't worry :) I think I'm about the farthest thing from it around here. Most of the boys probably think my car is ugly :>
